Reco Alternative Products ("Reco", "we", "us", or "our") is a Shopify app developed and operated by Commera We help Shopify merchants display purchase percentage data on their product pages to increase sales through social proof.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Email addresses — when you sign up to be notified about our launch or provide your email for any other purpose on our website.
• Shopify store & customer behaviour data — when you install our app, we collect data from your store using a Shopify Pixel. This pixel captures the following anonymised customer behaviour events to power our social proof functionality:
  • Product viewed
  • Product added to cart
  • Product checkout initiated
  • Product purchased

  This data is used solely to calculate and display purchase percentages on your store. We do not use this data for advertising or share it with third parties.

• Cookies and analytics — we use Google Tag Manager and analytics tools to understand how visitors use our website.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Send you notifications about our app launch and updates (only if you opted in)
• Provide and improve the Reco app and its features
• Respond to your questions or support requests
• Analyse usage patterns to improve the product experience
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

5. Data Sharing

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

For Merchants (Store Owners)

If you wish to have all of your store's data deleted from Reco, simply uninstall the Reco app from your Shopify store. Once uninstalled, Shopify will notify us via a mandatory shop/redact webhook within 48 hours, and we will permanently delete all data associated with your store.

For Your Customers

Reco fully complies with Shopify's mandatory GDPR redaction requirements. When one of your customers requests deletion of their personal data from your Shopify store, Shopify sends us a customers/redact webhook. Upon receiving this, we permanently delete all personal data we hold for that customer. Requests are processed within 30 days of receipt, in line with Shopify's compliance requirements.

7. Shopify Compliance

Reco is built to comply with Shopify's mandatory privacy and data protection requirements. This includes:

• Subscribing to and honouring all mandatory Shopify GDPR webhooks (customers/redact, shop/redact, customers/data_request)
• Collecting only the customer behaviour data necessary to provide the app's functionality via Shopify Pixel
• Never selling or sharing store or customer data with third parties for advertising purposes
• Deleting all store data upon app uninstallation

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — request we correct inaccurate data
• Deletion — request we delete your data
• Objection — object to how we process your data
• Withdrawal of consent — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
